A Letter from the CRO
My name is Jacqs and I’m the Chief Recruitment Officer for Theta here at Georgetown. I am super excited to meet all of you over the next few weeks. Recruitment is one of my favorite parts of Theta; I love getting to meet all of you, the Potential New Members, and share our sisterhood with all of you as well.
I know Greek life isn’t as prevalent here at Georgetown compared to other universities. In fact, some Thetas here chose Georgetown because of the lack of Greek life! As I’m sure you’ve heard, social life here at Georgetown usually is around which clubs and organizations you join. However, compared to other organizations on campus, Theta isn’t just a club that you join to put on your resume (though it does look good on it ☺). Theta is a sisterhood with bonds that extend beyond your four years here on the Hilltop.
The women of Kappa Alpha Theta truly embody what a family is at Georgetown. The love and support I have from my sisters in Theta have far surpassed any organization I’ve been a part of, both in high school and here at Georgetown. Theta is a supportive community that not only lifts you up when you’re down but also inspires you to be your best self as well. It’s inspiring seeing your sisters participating in groundbreaking research, being members of the most competitive clubs on campus, getting dream internships and jobs, helping others in the community, and generally being Leading Women on the Hilltop.
Joining Theta has been one of the best decisions of my life. When I received my bid, I had no idea how much Theta impact my life here on the Hilltop. But now the group of women that I call my sisters have become a part of who I am. They’re the ones I spend every weekend with, the ones that I procrastinate with in Lau, the ones I go crying to after failing a midterm, and the ones that will be up there on the altar on my wedding day.
Throughout the recruitment process, you will get the opportunity to meet this amazing sisterhood and get to know the sisters that make this organization incredible. I hope you are as excited as I am to start recruitment, because like me when I was a potential new member, I was looking for a family on the Hilltop. Then I fell in love with Theta. So I can’t wait to meet you all and see you GO GOLD this fall!
Your Chief Recruitment Officer,
